The foliation or appearance of the leaves occurs in May. The leaves perform vital functions during the grape cycle: transpiration, respiration, and photosynthesis. Acids and sugars are also formed in the leaves, which will then be transported to the vagus and on which the taste and quality of our grape juice will largely depend.

Most red grapes varieties possess the colour only in its skin. On the inside they have a yellowish pulp with which red must of mild colour is derived, that must be macerated. However, the Garnacha Tintorera variety is special variety due to the fact that it has an intense coloured pulp. This variety of grape is grown in our wine region La Manchuela, which allows us to obtain high colour intensity Red Grape Juice Concentrates.
Nowadays many factories claim to be eco-friendly. You might even say its seems like a new concept, however, for us it is not.
At JULIAN SOLER we have been using clean and renewable energy for over 20 years in our production process.

Only just a year ago Covid 19 broke out changing our lives. We were suddenly deprived of moments and sensations that brought us joy. Fortuantely, there are still some things we can enjoy, such as agricultura and the scenery our land. Ind this marvellous photo we can see Spring announcing its arrival and rminding us of just how fortunate we are to live in Castilla-La Mancha.
Every season we are able to store more than 20million litres of grape must at our own facilities. This storage capacity enables us to provide a range of grape varieties throughout the year, which we use to make our red & white grape juice concentrates.
At JULIAN SOLER we are in the midst of the digital transformation process. We are currently introducing a new ERP that will help us optimise the process of management within the company. We are opting for digitalisation as a growth impetus, though always with a people centred approach.

It is a myth that sugars in grape juice are bad for children. One small glass of 100% grape juice contains 15 g of natural sugars, but also provides vitamins and minerals, making it a useful addition to the diet. The sugars in are naturally present in the fruit, not added sugars. 100% grape juice contains all the vitamins and minerals found in the whole grapes used to make it.
Last week, the Certification process of our Organic Grape Juice Concentrate was carried out by CAAE (Certification body specialising in organic production). This product is environmentally friendly, sulphite and preservative free.
In Winter the vine remains in lethargy and vegetative rest and this is the ideal period to carry out this task. The goal of Pruning is to reduce the amount and the length of the cane in order for the vine to produce less bunches, but in turn they will be of a higher quality. Pruning prolongs the life of the vine and guarantees grape harvest from year to year.
The snow we got last week brought multiple benefits to our vineyard:
- The snow acts as a powerful disinfectant, cleaning the vine.
- It supplies a generous intake of water as the earth absorbs the water in a uniform manner.
- It delays the budding period of the vine, hence, reducing the risk of frost.
- The land is less likely to suffer erosion caused by heavy rain and hail.
Following the snowfall, the plant will revive in spring.
